An 1870’s old winery was transformed into 11 luxury suites in the settlement of Fira in Santorini. The new suites, as they were designed, acquired a unique character. The height inside the rooms but also the ambient lighting from the skylights and the windows offers the visitor a unique experience. In the central courtyard, a swimming pool was created with built-in sun loungers. Internal and external configuration of the space took place. The aim of the project was to harmonize the new functions with the intensely traditional style of the existing buildings. The built-in furniture blend harmoniously with the metallic black elements of the composition, creating a modern and at the same time traditional interior. The careful restoration of the stone walls and the pressed plaster on the facades maintain the style of the existing buildings unaltered, while the lighting study gives the complex an atmospheric character.
